Iowa Western Community College is seeking an instructor to teach a multi-level ESL class within its secondary programs. The role involves guiding students through listening, speaking, reading, and writing activities and supporting orientation sessions.
The instructor will implement state-mandated programs and adapt to departmental policies while collaborating with the Adult Education team to provide timely feedback during meetings and fulfill additional duties as needed.
Under limited supervision, the instructor is responsible for teaching a multi-level ESL class to students enrolled in IWCC's secondary programs.
Ability to occasionally lift 10 pounds, ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time, use hands to operate computer keyboard, telephone, and other basic office equipment, and ability to work with diverse populations. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear, and use a phone. Reading, writing, calculating, social interaction skills, reasoning/analysis, and ability to work with minimal supervision, high degree of problem-solving and high level of inter-personal skills is preferred.
