Job description

Position Overview

We are seeking an instructor for the Uniquely Abled Academy (UAA) in the Advanced Manufacturing sector. The role involves providing customized training and instruction for future manufacturing employees, focusing on neurodivergent adult learners. Candidates should be passionate educators committed to fostering student success, leveraging technology and modern teaching strategies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver advanced manufacturing instruction in both face-to-face and blended (hybrid) formats.
  • Develop and maintain curriculum that incorporates technology, counseling strategies, and 21st-century literacies.
  • Provide individual and group instruction to neurodivergent students, ensuring academic success.
  • Maintain office hours and be available for student support during evenings or weekends when required.
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum education of a Master’s degree in a related field (Biomedical Engineering, Computer Engineering Technology, mechanical, electrical, drafting, or related subfield) OR a Bachelor’s degree plus appropriate industry certification or licensure and at least 3 years work experience in engineering.
  • 3-year post-graduate work experience in an engineering-related field.
  • Prior college teaching experience is preferred but not mandatory.
  • High level of computer literacy and ability to use educational technology.
Preferred Experience
  • Ph.D. in a relevant discipline.
  • Experience with Haas or Fanuc controllers.
  • National Institute of Metalworking Skills (NIMS) credentials.
  • Experience teaching neurodivergent or adult learners.
