Ivy Tech Community College Evansville is seeking a part-time Adjunct Instructor in Education, specifically Child and Adolescent Development, to teach in-person courses for students preparing for careers as elementary school teachers, teaching assistants, paraprofessionals, classroom aides, and other K-12 school support roles. This role is ideal for an experienced licensed teacher, education specialist, curriculum instructor, or K-12 educator who enjoys helping future teachers understand student learning, child and adolescent development, classroom practice, and effective instruction.Major Responsibilities:Candidates considered for adjunct positions under this postings must be able to provide instruction in person at the Evansville, IN campus.PROGRAM OPERATION:Perform all instructional duties necessary to teach and facilitate student learning in assigned classes.Provide syllabus appropriate to course(s) being taught to students and follows syllabus content and requirements.Maintain student attendance and grading records according to College policy as outlined in the Adjunct Handbook.Submits requested information within established timelines.STUDENTS:Is available to students outside scheduled class time to answer questions/provide assistance.Deal with student concerns and, if necessary, consult with program coordinator to resolve issues.INSTRUCTION:Meet all scheduled classes of contracted course(s). Use technology such as Blackboard, Canva, PowerPoint, etc. as appropriate.In event of emergency absence, notifies program/department chair.Conduct all activities with an appreciation and respect for diversity of people, styles, and views. Promote same as an integral part of one's work.The above list of duties is not to be construed as an exhaustive list. Other duties associated with the position may be assigned.Hiring Range:$45.00 per contact hour (approximately $2,160 per 8-week course).Work Hours:This role would start in October and run during the fall term.
