Job summary

Howard Payne University is establishing an ongoing pool of adjunct instructors for the Department of Natural Sciences to teach biology or chemistry coursework as openings arise each semester. Appointees will deliver instructional content, assess students, and uphold the University’s Christian mission in classroom settings.

Adjunct faculty provide instruction online, hybrid, or in-person, and participate in essential duties consistent with the course requirements and term schedule.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or 18+ graduate hours in the field; Ph.D. preferred.
• University teaching experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Teaches one or more subjects within the Department for the course you are appointed to teach.
• Prepares and delivers instruction online, hybrid, or face-to-face.
• Meets classes as scheduled.
• Administers, grades examinations and assignments.
• Reports attendance electronically using Brightspace or Gateway.
• Assesses and reports student achievement; communicates with students promptly.
