Columbus State Community College invites applications for an Adjunct – Finance Technology (FMGT). The role provides quality instruction in Personal Finance, Corporate Finance, Investments, and related courses, fostering a positive learning environment and assessing student performance.

The position is part-time with compensation of $56.88 per contact hour and a maximum of 12 contact hours per week. Teaching experience is preferred; candidates with a Master’s in Finance or equivalent graduate

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Finance with at least 2 years of finance experience or a related Master’s with finance coursework.
  • Teaching experience is preferred.
  • Combination of education, training, coursework, and experience may qualify.

Responsibilities

  • Teach assigned courses such as Personal Finance, Corporate Finance, Investments, International Finance, Financial Statement Analysis, Risk Management, and Quantitative Methods.
  • Use technology appropriately and communicate expectations regarding its use to students.
  • Maintain accurate records, attendance, and submit grades in a timely manner in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Distribute and maintain accurate syllabi that incorporate departmental, college, cross‑college, and instructor requirements.
  • Conduct classes punctually and in accordance with the prescribed meeting schedule.
  • Employ appropriate assessment techniques to measure student performance in achieving course goals and objectives.
  • Engage in periodic meetings with the department, Lead Instructor, and Chairperson regarding teaching duties and professional development.
  • Create a positive classroom atmosphere that encourages active, collaborative learning, academic challenge, student and faculty interaction, and support for learners.
  • Encourage a sense of community among students, using technology to assist in communication.
  • Refer students to appropriate student and academic support services available at the College or in the community.
  • Foster and maintain a safe environment of respect and inclusion for faculty, staff, students, and members of the community.

Job Description: The Adjunct – Finance Technology (FMGT) position provides quality instruction and maintains a positive learning environment in the classroom, with major emphasis placed on teaching, supporting, and evaluating students.

  • Teach assigned courses such as Personal Finance, Corporate Finance, Investments, International Finance, Financial Statement Analysis, Risk Management, and Quantitative Methods.
  • Use technology appropriately and communicate expectations regarding its use to students.
  • Maintain accurate records, attendance, and submit grades in a timely manner in accordance with established policies and procedures.

  • Master’s degree in Finance and at least 2 years of finance experience; or a business‑related Master’s with required graduate‑level finance coursework and at least 2 years of finance experience.
  • Teaching experience preferred.
  • Combination of education, training, coursework, and experience may qualify a candidate.
Compensation

Compensation: $56.88 per contact hour. Contact Hour: Two hours equals one contact hour. Hours: Maximum of 12 contact hours per week. Full Time/Part Time: Part time.
