WSU Tech is seeking an Adjunct Faculty Instructor to teach Short Term Health courses, providing essential expertise to prepare students for immediate employment in health-related fields. Qualifications

  • Experience in health care education, especially short-term health programs.
  • Past teaching or training in adult education preferred.
  • CPR/First Aid or related certifications are a plus.
  • Strong written and verbal communication to engage students.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and supervise students in all classroom, lab, and clinical activities to ensure safety and learning.
  • Provide clear course objectives and maintain open communication on content, requirements, and evaluation.
  • Develop, revise, and improve curriculum to meet objectives and outcomes.
  • Adhere to WSU Tech Course Standards using effective teaching methods and current health care practices.
  • Create a supportive, engaging atmosphere conducive to student success.

Overview / Job Summary

The Adjunct Faculty Instructor for Short Term Health courses provides essential subject matter expertise and is responsible for teaching courses designed to prepare students for immediate employment in health‑related fields.

Responsibilities

Your day-to-day responsibilities will vary, but are not limited to:

  • Manage and supervise students in all assigned classroom and lab activities and clinicals to ensure a safe and effective learning environment.
  • Provide clear course objectives and maintain open communication with students regarding content, requirements, and evaluation procedures.
  • Develop, revise, and recommend curriculum enhancements to meet course objectives and improve student learning outcomes.
  • Ensure adherence to WSU Tech Course Standards by employing effective teaching methods and reflecting current practices in health care.
  • Create a supportive and engaging classroom atmosphere conducive to student success.
Education
  • PN Technical Certificate required for LPN, Associates degree required, or BSN for RN.
Preferred Experience & Skills
  • Experience in the health care field, particularly in short-term health education required.
  • Previous teaching or training experience in adult education preferred.
  • Current certifications related to health care professions, such as CPR, First Aid, or specific clinical skills, are an advantage.
  • Strong communication skills both verbally and in writing, with the ability to engage and inspire students.
  • Familiarity with digital learning platforms and willingness to utilize hybrid teaching methods as needed.
