Job summary

MCPHS University in Boston seeks adjunct faculty to teach Introduction to Psychology on our Boston campus for Spring 2027. Each section meets twice weekly for 75 minutes, with multiple section days and times available.

The course introduces the scientific study of behavior. Responsibilities include using an approved syllabus, posting materials in the LMS, advising students during office hours and via other approved means, mentoring, ongoing course development, and assessment.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in psychology or related field.

• Ability to work independently and interact with students, faculty, and external constituents.

Responsibilities

• Provide an approved syllabus with objectives, outcomes, teaching methodology, and assessment criteria.
• Create engaging assignments to illustrate real-world applications of concepts.
• Use the University LMS to post syllabus, materials, and communicate with students.
• Advise and assist students through office hours, videoconference, phone, or email.
• Mentor students, contribute to course development and assessment.
• Additional responsibilities may be assigned by the supervisor.

The School of Arts and Sciences seeks adjunct faculty to teach sections of Introduction to Psychology on our Boston campus during the Spring 2027 semester. Each section meets twice a week for 75 minutes per class. Multiple section days and meeting times are available. Course description: This course is designed to orient students to the scientific study of behavior through the exploration of selected principles and theories of human behavior. Topics includeperception, learning and memory, personality development, abnormal behavior, and social influences on behavior.

• Provides students with an approved syllabus that includes course objectives and learning outcomes, teaching methodology, attendance policies in line with those of the School, texts and readings, assignments and deliverables, timelines and evaluation criteria.
• Provides engaging assignments that demonstrate the real-world applications of concepts covered.
• Uses the University’s learning management system to post syllabus, assignments and other materials and to communicate with students
• Advises and assists students through office hours or scheduled appointments, by videoconference, phone or email, and through other University-approved mechanisms
• Provides service including student mentoring, ongoing course development, and assessment
• Additional responsibilities may be assigned by the supervisor

• Must be able to work independently and effectively interact with a wide array of parties at all levels (students, faculty, administration/staff, alumni, and external constituents, including healthcare industry professionals)

The pay range associated with this posting reflects the amount the University reasonably expects to pay for this role at this time. Salary offers are determined based on experience, skills, and qualifications as well as internal equity, market data and pay in comparison to similarly situated employees doing comparable work.
