Qualifications

• Master’s degree in one of the MTWM related fields or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement curriculum with clear learning objectives.
• Manage course materials and textbooks as assigned by the department chair.
• Administer tests and assignments to measure learning outcomes.
• Post grades in Blackboard and campus self-service portal.
• Maintain timely communications with students and staff at all times.
• Interact with students professionally and respond to questions about the subject matter.
• Assess participation and performance of students.
• Administer exams according to university guidelines.
• Complete student record keeping in a timely and accurate manner.
• Attend departmental and faculty meetings as requested.
• Uphold confidentiality and maintain professional demeanor.
• Support Campbell University policies, including FERPA and Title IX.

Position Summary:

We are accepting applications for our pool of adjunct instructors who currently reside in North Carolina or northern South Carolina.

Adjunct Instructor of Master of Trust and Wealth Management (MTWM) Program will work in the School of Business instructing courses in the MTWM curriculum. To be considered for a position in our applicant pool for the MTWM program, applicants must possess a master’s degree (terminal degree is preferred) from a regionally accredited university with extensive experience in one or more of the following areas:

• Tax Planning
• Estate Taxation
• Gift and Fiduciary Income Taxation
• Income Taxation

All MTWM adjunct faculty at Campbell University are expected to be very responsive to student needs and questions, and faculty must undergo training and certification before teaching may begin. These positions are specifically needed for the online courses where instruction is provided asynchronously online for 8-week course terms.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Develop and implement curriculum, inclusive of learning objectives

Develop and manage course materials from learning objectives and selected textbook provided by the department chair

Administer tests, assignments and other exercises that permit measurement of knowledge, abilities, and/or performance relative to the course learning objectives

Post grades in Blackboard as well as Campbell’s Self Service portal

Maintain timely communications with students and staff at all times

Interact with students in a positive manner, listen effectively, field questions pertaining to subject matter

Assess participation and performance of students

Administer exams according to university guidelines

Complete student record keeping in a timely and accurate manner

Participate in departmental, faculty and staff meetings as requested

Exercise independent judgment and maintain strict confidentiality

Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times

Uphold and abide by Campbell University policies and procedures, including, but not limited to; Title IX, and Information Security including FERPA, and other state and federal regulations

Education/Experience:

Master’s degree in one of the fields listed above, or a related field from an accredited university.

Terminal degree (PhD or JD) preferred, but not required

Relevant professional work experience

Experience working in higher education, and/or non-profit, and/or instructing young adults desired

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Ability to communicate effectively to all groups through both oral and written channels

Strong computer skills and the ability to learn and utilize new and emerging technology

Proficiency with Microsoft and common methods of digital communication including social media platforms

Demonstrate tact, a positive attitude, courtesy, and discretion in dealing with, faculty, staff, students, university officials and the public

Exercise independent judgement and maintain strict confidentiality as necessary

Ability to work independently as well as function effectively in a team and within a diverse group of people
