• Employ technology tools appropriate to learning activities.
• Conduct appropriate and frequent evaluation of student performance and provide feedback.
• Assign grades and maintain student records.
• Maintain course outlines and provide students with a comprehensive syllabus that includes measurable learning outcomes.
• Develop quarterly course schedules and mentor students on program options, career plans, and graduation requirements.
• Maintain an on-campus presence including office hours.

Description

Walla Walla Community College (WWCC) seeks to develop applicant pools for adjunct faculty to teach course offerings throughout the 2026-2027 academic year. WWCC offers opportunities for adjunct faculty to teach courses at all of our campuses: Walla Walla, Clarkston, Washington State Penitentiary, Coyote Ridge Corrections Center, as well as online/remotely (please see required qualifications for approved remote states).

Part-time/temporary adjunct faculty positions offer flexible hours and the opportunity to assist a diverse group of adult students in achieving their educational goals. WWCC offers a wide range of opportunities in extended learning, dual-credit alternative high school, workplace learning, outreach learning, and personal enrichment programs.

WWCC accepts applications for adjunct faculty positions on a continuous basis, though it does not necessarily imply that there are immediate openings. Applicants who meet the required minimum qualifications and submit a complete application with all required components will become part of the standing pool which the College will draw on as scheduling needs dictate.

Accounting Adjunct Assistant Professor

Walla Walla Community College is accepting applications for a part-time Accounting Adjunct Assistant Professor to be part of a pool of professionals we can reach out to for teaching accounting courses.

General Responsibilities

WWCC faculty are professional educators with the primary responsibility to provide a quality education for WWCC students. Faculty use a variety of strategies and technologies to reach the wide range of students enrolled at WWCC.

We are seeking a creative and dynamic individual with academic training and work experience in the accounting field.

The relationship of the faculty member to the student is one of teacher, mentor, and advisor. This position will be responsible for teaching accounting courses within our Accounting Technology degree program plus other business courses as needed. The successful candidate must be comfortable teaching in a variety of modalities including in-person classroom, fully online, hybrid (combination of in-person and online) and HyFlex which integrates a Zoom classroom attendance option with in-person and online attendance options. Support for teaching a HyFlex course is provided.

Position related activities encompass curriculum development, instructional preparation, student outcomes assessment, advising/mentoring, and community outreach in the Clarkston area.

• Master's degree in Accounting, Business or another related field -OR- Master's degree in Education or other related discipline plus a Bachelor's degree in Accounting from an accredited college or university required.
• Ability to achieve industry certification in accounting areas.
• 2 years+ of current, relevant work experience.

• Recent successful teaching experience at the high school, community college, or university level in accounting, business, or related field.
• Experience in developing lower-division curriculum at the community college or university level.

Conditions/Terms of Employment

This is a part-time instruction assignment contingent on enrollment and located at the Walla Walla Campus. Compensation

Compensation for an adjunct assistant professor is contingent on enrollment and paid in accordance with the contract between the WWCC Board of Trustees and the WWCC Association for Higher Education. Refer to Appendix C for the adjunct salary schedule.
