MCPHS University School of Pharmacy – Boston seeks an adjunct faculty member to deliver high quality learning experiences for students in the Pharmaceutical Business and Administrative Sciences department. The role includes delivering instruction in-person, online, or blended formats and providing students with a syllabus that defines objectives and outcomes.

You will use the University LMS to post materials, hold office hours via videoconference, and mentor students through course development

Qualifications

• Advanced degree with coursework in Pharmaceutical Business and Admin Sciences and 5+ years of experience, or 10+ years of relevant experience.
• At least 1 year of teaching or formal instructional training experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and willingness to use Blackboard LMS.
• Commitment to undergraduate, graduate and professional education and student success.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and interact with diverse stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Job description

The School of Pharmacy - Boston seeks an adjunct faculty member to deliver high quality learning experiences and education for students in the Pharmaceutical Business and Administrative Sciences department.

• Deliver didactic instruction via multiple formats (in-person, online, or in a ‘blended’ format) in the Pharmaceutical Business and Administrative Sciences program.
• Provide students with an approved syllabus that includes course objectives and learning outcomes, teaching methodology, attendance policies in line with those of the School, texts and readings, assignments and deliverables, timelines and evaluation criteria.
• Provide engaging assignments that demonstrate the real-world applications of concepts covered.
• Uses the University’s learning management system to post syllabus, assignments and other materials and to communicate with students
• Advises and assists students through office hours or scheduled appointments, by videoconference, phone or email, and through other University-approved mechanisms
• Provides service including student mentoring, ongoing course development, and assessment
• Additional responsibilities may be assigned by the supervisor

Required:

• Advanced degree (PhD, JD, MPH, or equivalent) with appropriate coursework in the subject areas described above and a minimum of five years’ experience or a minimum of ten years of relevant experience.
• A minimum of one (1) year of teaching experience in the subject areas taught or demonstrate prior training in instructional methodology and teaching skills from a formal teacher educational program or any comparable training program or formal in-house training program.
• Proficient skills and experience in Microsoft Office computer software systems that include word processing, spreadsheets, and presentations as well as a willingness to learn and use the Blackboard LMS.
