The Humanities and Arts Department at Worcester Polytechnic Institute is regularly seeking part-time adjunct faculty to teach in its Music Program. The Music faculty participate in a vibrant music technology program and oversee a diverse assortment of choral groups; jazz, string, and brass ensembles; and concert and stage bands. In addition, faculty teach introductory courses, intermediate thematic surveys, advanced topic seminars, and capstone practicums in music theory and history, audio arts, music technology, as well as composition, arrangement, and performance.
We are looking for outstanding artists/scholars, but successful candidates must also demonstrate teaching excellence and versatility as well as an ability to jump into an existing curriculum with creative and critical pedagogical approaches. A successful candidate should hold a Doctorate in music (PhD, DMA, DMus, etc.).
