Job summary

WSU Tech seeks an experienced HVAC industry professional to serve as an Adjunct Faculty member. You will deliver course content and hands-on training in heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems.

The ideal candidate brings current industry knowledge to the classroom and helps students develop the technical skills for HVAC careers. Responsibilities include engaging instruction, hands-on training, and program involvement.

Qualifications

  • Five+ years of HVAC industry experience.
  • Prior teaching/training experience is not required.
  • Hands-on experience with HVAC systems: installation, troubleshooting, and repair.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging instruction aligned with objectives and industry standards.
  • Provide hands-on training related to HVAC systems and repair.
  • Maintain an inclusive, safe, and productive classroom environment.
  • Assess student progress and provide feedback to support success.
  • Maintain accurate attendance and performance records.
  • Incorporate current industry technology and tools into instruction.
  • Collaborate with the academic team to facilitate student success.
  • Participate in program evaluation and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Represent WSU Tech at community and recruitment events as needed.

Job description

Compensation & Location
  • Compensation: $32/hr
  • Worksite Location: City Center Campus
  • Work Hours: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday evenings 6:00pm - 9:30pm
Overview / Job Summary

The HVAC program is seeking an experienced industry professional to serve as an Adjunct Faculty member. This position is responsible for delivering course content and providing hands-on training to students in heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems.

The ideal candidate will bring current industry knowledge and practical experience to the classroom while helping students develop the technical skills needed for careers in the HVAC industry.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will vary, but are not limited to:

  • Deliver engaging instruction aligned with course objectives and industry standards.
  • Provide hands-on training related to HVAC systems, installation, troubleshooting, and repair.
  • Create and maintain an inclusive, safe, and productive classroom environment.
  • Assess student progress and provide feedback to support student success.
  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance and performance.
  • Incorporate current industry technology, practices, and tools into instruction.
  • Collaborate with academic team members and support staff to facilitate student success.
  • Participate in program evaluation and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Represent WSU Tech at relevant community and recruitment events, as needed.
Education
  • Technical certificate or higher in HVAC or a related field, preferred.
  • EPA 608 certification required or able to acquire within 6 months of hire
Requirements, Knowledge & Skills Needed
  • At least five (5) years of experience in the HVAC industry, required.
  • Prior teaching or training experience, not required.
  • Hands-on experience with HVAC systems, including installation, troubleshooting, and repair.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively engage students.
  • Ability to incorporate technology and current industry practices into instruction.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage diverse student needs.
