Job Responsibilities
- Cover program and course learning outcomes in the College for Financial Planning materials, ensuring instruction is delivered at the appropriate level.
- Use best pedagogical practices to create engaging educational experiences, encouraging critical thinking, academic rigor, and intellectual curiosity.
- Stay current with trends, techniques, and technological advances relevant to the program and pedagogy.
- Create outstanding and engaging educational experiences in College courses.
- Participate in College trainings, including annual updates necessary for continued employment.
- Respect students and set clear expectations for respectful academic discourse.
- Maintain open communication with students, respond promptly, and provide constructive feedback. Refer students with questions to appropriate departments.
- Keep informed of course schedules, class changes, technological updates, and curriculum developments through regular communication with the College.
- Be mindful of interactions with students, avoiding conflicts of interest and situations that may appear inappropriate.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by deans, chairs, or program coordinators.
Job Description
Instructors are responsible for delivering all aspects of CFP education courses, serving as subject matter experts and student advocates. Kaplan provides comprehensive educational content, which instructors deliver compellingly to help students pass the CFP exam and become better financial planners.
Minimum Qualifications
- Terminal degree with 18 graduate credit hours in the discipline OR a master’s degree with 18 graduate credit hours in the discipline AND at least five years of financial services industry experience.
- At least 2 of the following: certifications/licensures related to the discipline (e.g., CFP), publications or presentations related to the discipline, or at least 200 hours of teaching contact hours with demonstrated teaching excellence.

Preferred Qualifications
- Terminal degree with 18 graduate credit hours in the discipline plus related certifications or industry and teaching experience.
Salary: approximately $3K per course, dependent on education and experience.
