Job summary

Qualifications

  • Candidate must have an active Illinois Paramedic license in good standing.
  • Candidate must submit to and pass a drug test per hospital regulations.
  • Candidate must provide immunization records (e.g. Covid; Flu) per hospital regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Provide instruction and monitor teaching/learning effectiveness in courses assigned by the division Dean.
  • Model professionalism with excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrate strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask and engage large groups with complicated material.
  • Instruct in lecture, skills, or clinicals per IDPH guidelines at Northwestern Medicine/Delnor Hospital in Geneva, IL.
  • Schedule and manage students' clinical rotations as needed.
  • Prepare syllabi and deliver courses following the course outline and learning-centered principles.
  • Submit attendance, grades and data for assessment of student learning by deadlines.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to serve student and community needs.
  • Manage course paperwork such as attendance and grade postings.

Waubonsee Community College’sHealth Professions and Public Service division is currently seeking adjunctinstructors for Paramedic EMT courses for the 2026 cohort 6. We also have lab experiences that areembedded within the didactic class times. Adjunct faculty members are responsible for delivering curriculum,providing instruction, and performing student learning assessment. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to effectively useinstructional and classroom technology to enhance teaching and learning.

Responsibilities
  • Provide instruction and monitor teaching/learningeffectiveness in courses assigned by the division Dean.
  • Modeling professionalism with excellent communication,presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrate strong organizational skills and the ability tomultitask as well as the ability to engage large groups of people withcomplicated material.
  • Responsible to instruct in lecture, skills, or clinicals inthe Paramedic Program per IDPH guidelines. All courses occur at Northwestern Medicine/Delnor Hospital in Geneva, IL.as programmed by the Southern Fox Valley EMS System.
  • May be responsible to schedule and manage students' clinicalrotations.
  • May be responsible to prepare the syllabus, instruct theassigned course based upon the course outline and incorporate learning-centeredcollege principles and concepts.
  • Meeting all WCC deadlines for submission of attendance,grades and data collection for assessment of student learning.
  • Working collaboratively with professional colleagues to servethe needs of students and the community.
  • Responsible for course paperwork such as attendance and gradepostings, and for review and entry of students' clinicals.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Candidate must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Candidate must have an active Illinois Paramedic license ingood standing.
  • Candidate must submit to and pass a drug test per hospitalregulations.
  • Candidate must provide immunization records (e.g. Covid; Flu)per hospital regulations.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Active IDPH EMT-P Lead Instructor Certification is preferred.
  • Associates Degree or higher is preferred, or equivalentexperience.
  • Two years teaching at the college level is preferred.
  • Previous teaching or training experience is preferred.
