Job summary

Cuyahoga Community College is seeking an Adjunct Faculty member to teach Computer Science Programming and Development with a concentration in Quality Assurance. The role supports the QAConcentration degree and involves creating engaging learning activities and assessing student performance.

Candidates will teach in a part-time capacity with classes that may occur during the day, evening or weekend. Location is college-wide and the incumbent will collaborate with the Associate Dean and college

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in IT/CS/Math or 5+ years’ experience as a Software Tester.
• Willingness to use instructional technologies to teach traditional, hybrid and/or distance learning classes.
• Advanced communication and organizational skills.
• Responds appropriately to community needs.

Responsibilities

• Teaches QA courses for the new Programming and Development (QAConcentration) degree.
• Prepares and delivers learning activities to achieve course outcomes.
• Prepares course materials such as syllabi, homework assignments and handouts.
• Evaluates and grades students’ class work, laboratory work, assignments, papers, and examinations.
• Maintains and submits student attendance records, grades and other required documentation by deadlines.
• Be available to students for coaching.
• Periodic meetings with supervisors, division, or College relative to teaching duties.

Required:

• Advanced communication (verbal, written and interpersonal) and organizational skills
• Appropriately responds to the needs of the community

Preferred:

• Master's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Math, or a related field
• 2+ years industry/business experience in computer technology
• Hands-on experience testing in one or more of these areas: Web UI, Native App, Web API, Scripting, Load/Stress, Utilities
• Experience with both manual and automation testing
