Job summary

• Prepare and evaluate course assignments and examinations.
• Other duties as assigned.

SUMMARY:

Adjunct Faculty refers to an educator hired to teach on a course-by-course basis throughout an academic year.

A Presidential proclamation issued on September 19, 2025, imposes a $100,000 fee on new H-1B petitions filed after September 21, 2025. Please be advised that Texas A&M University will NOT pay this fee. Therefore, if you need immigration sponsorship for your employment, we recommend that you consult with your private immigration counsel at your own expense to ascertain whether your current immigration status would make a potential offer of employment from Texas A&M University subject to this fee.

In addition, on January 27, 2026, Texas Governor Abbot issued a moratorium on the filing of any new H-1B unless approved by the Texas Workforce Commission. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Teach three semester credit hours per 7-week term in the fully online competency-based education (CBE) format supporting the Early Childhood Education (ECCB), Reading (RDCB), or Elementary Education (EDCB)

• Prepare and evaluate course assignments and examinations.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• Education: Master’s degree in one of the following: Curriculum & Instruction, Elementary Education, Early Childhood Education, Reading, or Bilingual Education, or a closely related field, with at least 18 graduate hours at the master’s level in Curriculum & Instruction, Early Childhood Education, or Reading.
• Knowledge / Skills: Proficient with computers and Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. Demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to: Multi-task and work cooperatively with others. Work with minimal supervision.
• Licensing/Professional Certifications: NA
• Physical Requirements: NA
• Other Requirements: Position will require work after business hours and on weekends.

PREFERRED EDUCATION / SKILLS/ EXPERIENCE:

• Candidates who hold current relevant professional credentials.
• College or University teaching experience.
• Graduate coursework in Special Education (SPED) or Reading/Literacy
• Evidence of teaching excellence.
• Online or hybrid teaching experience.
