Job summary

Waubonsee Community College invites experienced automation and manufacturing professionals to join as adjunct faculty at the Sugar Grove Campus. You will train the next generation of technicians in industrial automation, robotics, electrical systems, and automated manufacturing, drawing on real-world industry experience to enrich classroom learning.

As an adjunct, you will deliver curriculum across multiple modalities (face-to-face, online, hybrid) and assess student outcomes, using campus

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree or related field and/or industry certification(s) and 4000 hours of work-related experience in the field.

Responsibilities

  • Design syllabi, lessons, activities, assignments, and assessments to meet the course description and learning outcomes.
  • Meet college deadlines for attendance, grades and data collection for assessment of student learning.
  • Incorporate learning-centered principles to motivate students and enhance learning.
  • Integrate instructional technology to deliver and enhance teaching.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to serve student and community needs.

Waubonsee Community College is seeking experienced automation and manufacturing professionals to help train the next generation of skilled technicians. Whether your expertise is in industrial automation, robotics, electrical systems, fluid power, programmable controls, or automated manufacturing systems, your real-world experience can make a direct impact on students preparing for careers in today’s advanced manufacturing workforce.

Adjunct faculty members are responsible for delivering curriculum, providing instruction, and performing student learning assessment. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to effectively use instructional and classroom technology to enhance teaching and learning. Courses at Waubonsee Community College may be offered in various delivery modes including, but not limited to, face-to-face, asynchronous online, synchronous online, hybrid, and flex.

Essential functions of this position include, but are not limited to:
  • Designingsyllabi, lessons, activities, assignments, and assessments to meet theestablished course description as well as program, course, and college learningoutcomes and/or objectives while addressing each student’s needs as diverselearners.
  • Meeting all college deadlines for submission of attendance, grades and datacollection for assessment of student learning.
  • Incorporating learning-centered principles and concepts while motivatingstudents to actively participate in their educational experiences.
  • Integrating instructional and classroom technology (if applicable)appropriately and effectively to deliver and enhance teaching and learning.
  • Working collaboratively with professional colleagues to serve the needs ofstudents and the community.
  • Modeling professionalism with excellent communication, presentation, andinterpersonal skills.
  • Associate'sdegree in Industrial Technology or related field and/or industry certification(s)and 4000 hours of work-related experience in the field.
Minimum Qualifications

Associate's degree or relatedfield and/or industry certification(s) and 4000 hours of work-relatedexperience in the field.

Preferred Experience
  • Experienceteaching at a Community College or Vocational/Technical institution.
  • Teaching traditionally underserved populations.
  • Incorporating technology and multimedia applications into teaching and learningprocess.
  • Teaching in multiple instructional modalities.
  • Utilizing Learning Management Systems.
