Job summary

Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences (MCPHS) is seeking a tutor for the accelerated Doctor of Pharmacy program. The role involves weekly tutoring for first- and second-year students, with sessions conducted in-person and/or remotely as needed.

The tutor will provide individualized feedback on competency, use the university LMS and scheduling system, and contribute to program development and student assessment while engaging students with real-world applications of the coursework.

Qualifications

• Pharmacist degree required and commitment to education.
• Proficiency with educational technologies and LMS tools.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to interact with a wide range of stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Offer weekly tutoring availability for first- and second-year PharmD students.
• Facilitate tutoring sessions in-person and/or remotely.
• Provide individualized feedback on student competency.
• Utilize LMS and scheduling systems to communicate and document sessions.
• Provide feedback on student trends and concerns.
• Promote engagement and real-world application of course content.
• Support student mentoring, course development, and assessment.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Offer weekly tutoring availability for students enrolled in the first and second years of the Accelerated Doctor of Pharmacy program
• Facilitate tutoring sessions in an in-person and/or
• ent
• Provide individualized feedback specific to student tutees as it relates to their competency with subject matter
• Use the University’s learning management and scheduling system to communicate with students and document sessions
• Provide feedback to the program as it relates to observed student trends, concerns, and the like
• Promotes engagement with and application of course content during sessions as to demonstrate the real-world applications of concepts covered
• Provide service including student mentoring, ongoing course development, and assessment

Preferred Qualifications

Additional responsibilities may be assigned by the supervisor

• Experience in and/or familiarity with the School of Pharmacy Worcester/Manchester Accelerated Doctor of Pharmacy program

• Doctor of Pharmacy Degree
• Commitment to undergraduate, graduate and/or professional education and student success
• Demonstrates proficiency with educational and workplace technologies, including learning management systems, Microsoft 365 applications, student success platforms, and emerging digital tools
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
• Must be able to work independently and effectively interact with a wide array of parties at all levels (students, faculty, administration/staff, alumni, and external constituents, including healthcare industry professionals)

Compensation The pay range associated with this posting reflects the amount the University reasonably expects to pay for this role at this time. Salary offers are determined based on experience, skills, and qualifications as well as internal equity, market data and pay in comparison to similarly situated employees doing comparable work. Hiring Range: $44.50/hr
