Job summary

Columbia State Community College is seeking Part-Time Faculty in English and Reading to teach up to nine credit hours per semester across multiple campuses including Columbia, Williamson, Lawrenceburg, Lewisburg, Clifton and off-campus sites.

Minimum qualifications include a Master’s in English and a Bachelor's in Reading or English with related coursework or licenses. Salary is paid per credit hour with possible travel stipends for extensive travel.

Qualifications

• Must have a Master's degree in English or related field with 18 graduate semester hours in English.
• Bachelor's degree in Reading or English or related field with 18 semester hours in Reading/English or licenses to teach Elementary K-6 or K-8.

Responsibilities

• Preparing for courses as assigned and adhering to departmental course syllabi and outcomes.
• Beginning and ending all classes as schedules.
• Organizing, assigning, and supervising learning activities of students in classes.
• Maintaining academic standards and classroom behavior; evaluating students and informing them of scores in a timely manner.
• Maintaining accurate records of attendance, participation and grades.
• Reading Columbia State email and responding to student questions via email promptly.
• Meeting deadlines for administrative requests such as personnel paperwork and enrollment.
