Job summary

Savannah Technical College seeks part-time Cosmetology and Nail Technology instructors for Savannah and Effingham campuses. You will teach the state-approved Cosmetology and/or Nail Technology curriculum, support student learning, and contribute to placement outcomes.

Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma, active Nail Tech/Cosmetologist license, and three years of recent full-time experience. Flexible scheduling, including Saturdays, is required.

• Active Georgia Nail Technology and/or Master Cosmetologist license in good standing.
• Three years full-time, paid work experience within the past seven years.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including days, nights, and Saturdays.

Responsibilities

• Teach the state-approved Cosmetology and/or Nail Technology curriculum to enrolled students in classroom and lab settings.
• Foster effective learning environments and monitor student progress.
• Evaluate and record student progress toward learning goals and outcomes.
• Prepare and maintain documentation and administrative reports.
• Ensure safety and security requirements in the classroom and laboratory are met.
• Support student retention through graduation and assist with placement of program graduates.
• Maintain good rapport with business, industry, and the public sector.

Job Description

Savannah Technical College is seeking part-time Cosmetology and Nail Technology Instructors to join our college. Opportunities currently exist at Savannah and Effingham Campus locations.

Job Duties

• utilize current curriculum and instructional materials to teach the state approved Cosmetology and/or Nail Technology curriculum to enrolled students;
• foster effective learning in both classroom and lab settings;
• evaluating students’ progress in attaining goals and objectives;
• ensuring student learning outcomes are attained and properly recorded;
• preparing and maintaining documentation and administrative reports;
• ensuring safety and security requirements are met in the classroom and laboratory;
• accept the responsibility of retaining students who enroll in the program through graduation;
• assist with the placement of program graduates;
• maintain good rapport with business, industry, and the public sector

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma and completion of a Nail Technology and/or Master Cosmetology program from an accredited private or postsecondary teaching institute.
• Active Georgia Nail Technology and/or Master Cosmetologist license in good standing.
• Three years full-time, paid work experience within the past seven years.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including days, nights, and Saturdays.

Salary/Benefits

Salary is commensurate with education and work experience.
