West Georgia Technical College is seeking a Cosmetology Adjunct Instructor to prepare lesson plans, teach Cosmetology courses, and assess student progress. The role supports classroom, lab, and field instruction, requiring strong computer and communication skills while serving a diverse student body.

Selected candidates must be able to work morning or evening hours, Monday through Thursday, with compensation of $27.00 per contact hour. These are part-time, temporary positions with no benefits.

Competenze

• Diploma in Cosmetology from an accredited post-secondary institution or equivalent.
• Three (3) out of the past seven (7) years of field experience.
• Current Georgia State Board of Cosmetology and Barbers, Master Cosmetologist License.
• Valid Driver’s License.

Job Description: Nature of Duties:
Under general supervision, prepares lesson plans for classroom instruction for credited technical/occupational courses; prepares standardized course syllabi using a provided template; assesses students’ satisfactory progress based on established course grading requirements. May be required to attend professional development training as required for specific classroom or online course delivery. Teaches Cosmetology courses in a classroom/lab/field environment that closely simulates the industry environment while maintaining knowledge of current trends and developments in the field. Provides instruction in the theory and practical applications of Cosmetology. Measures program or departmental student learning outcomes for continuous student improvement and success. Requires strong computer skills, communication skills, and the ability to interact effectively with a diverse student population. Selected candidates must be able to work morning or evening hours, Monday through Thursday.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Diploma in Cosmetology from an accredited post-secondary institution or equivalent.
• Three (3) out of the past seven (7) years of field experience.
• Current Georgia State Board of Cosmetology and Barbers, Master Cosmetologist License.
• Valid Driver’s License.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Georgia State Board of Cosmetology and Barbers, Cosmetology Instructor License.
• Cosmetology teaching experience.
• An associate degree in cosmetology or related.
• Teaching experience at the post-secondary level.

Salary/Benefits: $27.00 per contact hour. All adjunct positions are part-time, temporary positions. Hours are offered based on student enrollment each semester. Adjunct positions do not include benefits or a promise of future full-time employment.
