Position Title

Adjunct, Computer Science – Part Time

Position Summary and Qualifications

Saint Joseph’s University’s Department of Computer Science seeks highly qualified adjunct faculty to teach a variety of courses each semester. Candidates will be responsible for teaching Introductory Programming (Java and Python), Computer Architecture, Internet Application Development, and Algorithms. Adjuncts may teach 1 or 2 courses per semester on an “as needed” basis, with classes held during daytime or evening sessions. Compensation is commensurate with educational credentials, professional experience, and instructional background.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Provide support and guidance to students
• Instruct assigned courses, preparing syllabi and instructional materials
• Use university learning management systems to deliver instruction
• Teaching of a specified course and preparing materials
• Grade reporting and assessment
• Offer one hour of office hours per week in addition to scheduled class sessions

Secondary Duties & Responsibilities

• May be required to stand for long periods or talk for long periods
• May be required to carry course materials

Minimum Qualifications

• Required Master’s Degree in Computer Science or a closely related field
• Previous teaching or training experience
