Job summary

University of New England is seeking a Clinical Nursing Instructor to provide clinical supervision and instruction to undergraduate pre-licensure nursing students, guiding the development of clinical judgment and professional behaviors aligned with course objectives and evidence-based practice standards.

The role involves supervising rotations, facilitating learning across acute and specialty settings, and delivering ongoing feedback.

Qualifications

BSN required; MSN preferred.
Minimum of two years of relevant clinical experience.
Current Maine RN license.
Recent clinical experience in acute care and/or skilled nursing (past 5 years).
Current American Heart Association BLS certification.
Ability to meet clinical site health, vaccination, and regulatory requirements.
Ability to meet physical and functional role expectations (lifting up to 50 lbs).

Responsibilities

Supervise and instruct students during clinical rotations (4–8 per group).
Facilitate learning across acute care, pediatrics, maternity, mental health, and skilled nursing settings.
Assign patient experiences aligned with course objectives.
Plan and lead pre-brief and post-clinical conferences.
Provide ongoing formative feedback to support student development.
Complete midterm and final clinical evaluations with course faculty.
