Job summary

Hood College seeks an adjunct Clinical Instructor in Nursing to supervise and direct pre-licensure nursing students in clinical and/or lab settings across multiple content areas. The role emphasizes integration of theory and practice, feedback, and alignment with program outcomes.

The instructor provides direct observation, evaluates student performance, and supports the lead faculty in clinical setting effectiveness while maintaining current professional practice knowledge and collaborative

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Maryland with at least two years of recent clinical experience.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing required; Master of Science in Nursing preferred.
• Ability to teach across nursing fundamentals, adult health, maternal health, pediatrics and mental health nursing.

Responsibilities

• Directs, manages and evaluates student learning in clinical settings according to college policies.
• Provides clinical, skills lab, and classroom instruction as appropriate.
• Evaluates students' clinical performance and provides formal feedback at midterm and course end.
• Maintains professional practice knowledge and participates in course team development.
• Liaises between clinical agencies and Hood College nursing program to support learning outcomes.
• Participates in faculty meetings and contributes to program evaluation.
