Job summary

Excelsior University is seeking a part-time Clinical Instructor to coordinate with course faculty, deliver timely feedback, and demonstrate nursing expertise in student clinical experiences. You will support student success, manage clinical evaluations, and participate in remote and on-site activities as needed.

The role requires a master's in nursing (or a BSN plus progress toward advanced degree), an active NYS RN license, 5+ years RN experience in varied clinical areas, and strong

Qualifications

• Master's degree in nursing or BSN with enrollment toward a master's/doctoral degree is required.
• Active NYS RN license in good standing.
• Minimum 5 years of RN experience in varied clinical areas.
• Current clinical experience in an acute care hospital.
• Experience supervising nursing students and/or new graduates.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience with educational technology and video conferencing.
• BLS certification is mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with the Department Chair and instructional faculty to oversee course content.
• Respond promptly to student needs with timely formative feedback.
• Grade clinical assignments using rubrics by due dates.
• Work two non-consecutive weekends per 8-week term at a clinical site.
• Plan and coordinate patient assignments aligned with course objectives.
• Demonstrate nursing skills and use of related technology (EHR, IV pumps, etc.).
• Conduct pre- and post-clinical activities in Canvas LMS and Zoom sessions.
