Job summary

Sinclair Community College’s Astronomy Department invites applicants for Adjunct Faculty to teach astronomy and physics courses, in both in-person and online formats. You will develop syllabi, apply effective teaching strategies, and support student learning in a collegial environment.

Minimum a Master’s degree in astronomy or physics and 1–2 years of teaching in varied modalities are required; successful prior teaching experience is preferred.

• Master’s degree in astronomy or physics is required.
• 1–2 years of teaching astronomy in different modalities is required.
• Evidence of successful prior teaching experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Adjunct faculty teach curriculum developed by the department.
• Plan and organize instruction to maximize student learning.
• Prepare and provide syllabi for all assigned sections according to department policies.
• Use appropriate teaching strategies and instructional technology.
