Job summary

AdventHealth in Orlando, FL seeks an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) with a Master’s in Nursing to conduct comprehensive health assessments and manage patient care across acute and chronic conditions. The role involves collaboration with physicians, education for patients and families, and active participation in care planning and quality initiatives.

The position requires 1+ year of related experience, strong leadership abilities, and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced hospital

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Nursing required.
  • 1+ year of related work experience required.
  • APRN license required; BLS preferred.
  • Proficient in patient education and care coordination.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive health assessments including exams and histories.
  • Initiate orders for meds, labs, testing within scope and policy.
  • Identify health status changes and implement interventions.
  • Diagnose and manage acute and chronic conditions across organ systems.
  • Develop and evaluate individualized care plans considering age-specific needs.
  • Provide education and counseling to patients and families.
  • Coordinate care with physicians and interdisciplinary team.
  • Facilitate patient flow and discharge planning.
  • Participate in rounds, conferences, and care planning.
  • Document encounters and care plans accurately per policy.
  • Respond to urgent needs and participate in on-call duties.
  • Engage in quality improvement and data collection.

Job Description:
  • Conducts comprehensive health assessments, including physical examinations, patient histories, and interpretation of diagnostic tests.
  • Initiates orders for medications, laboratory studies, diagnostic testing, and treatments within scope of practice and organizational policy.
  • Identifies alterations in patient health status and implements appropriate nursing and medical interventions.
  • Diagnoses and manages acute and chronic health conditions across organ systems.
  • Develops, implements, and evaluates individualized plans of care, considering age‑specific needs.
  • Provides patient and family education, counseling, and support regarding treatment plans and health management.
  • Coordinates patient care in collaboration with physicians and interdisciplinary team members.
  • Facilitates efficient and effective patient flow, including appropriate utilization of resources and discharge planning.
  • Participates in interdisciplinary rounds, case conferences, and care planning activities.
  • Ensures accurate and timely documentation of patient encounters, procedures, and care plans in accordance with policy.
  • Responds to urgent or emergent patient needs and participates in on‑call responsibilities as scheduled.
  • Participates in quality improvement activities, including data collection, outcome analysis, and process evaluation.
  • Incorporates evidence‑based practice to enhance clinical outcomes and support program development.
  • Engages in professional development activities and represents the organization in appropriate community or educational events.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
