CAMPUS SPECIFIC INFORMATION

The Natural Sciences Department at Hostos Community College seeks applications for multiple Adjunct College Laboratory Technician positions in the Biology and Chemistry units. The successful candidates will be responsible for the following:

• Coordinate faculty and student access to laboratory rooms.
• Maintain, provide and secure audio-visual material and equipment requested by faculty for lab exercises and lectures.
• Troubleshoot and address common computer-related issues including computer and software configuration problems.
• Assist the full-time CLT prepare chemical solutions, maintain inventories of supplies and equipment for labs.
• Set up and dismantle students' laboratory experiments.
• Maintain and restock instructional laboratory supplies for students.
• Train and supervise work-study students in laboratory procedures, maintenance, cleaning and safety.
• Clean and wash glassware and lab material on daily basis.
• Essential duties require on campus presence.
• Assists with other duties and areas as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

High School Diploma with a minimum of four years related experience. Additional education may be used to meet the experience requirement: an Associate degree may be substituted for two years experience, and a Bachelor's degree may be substituted for four years experience.

COMPENSATION

$35.39/hr
