Job Description

The Medical Lab Technology Adjunct position provides quality instruction and maintains a positive learning environment in the classroom, with major emphasis placed on teaching, supporting and evaluating students. The Adjunct role provides instruction and monitors teaching/learning effectiveness in courses assigned by the Department Chair or other leadership members.

Responsibilities
  • Teach assigned courses as scheduled and conduct classes punctually.
  • Design curriculum that embraces diversity and models inclusive teaching strategies.
  • Use technology appropriately and communicate expectations to students.
  • Maintain accurate attendance records, submit grades on time, and provide progress feedback.
  • Distribute and maintain accurate syllabi meeting departmental, college, and cross‑college requirements.
  • Employ assessment techniques to measure student performance in achieving course goals.
  • Engage in periodic meetings with the department, Lead Instructor, and Chairperson regarding teaching duties and professional development.
  • Foster a positive classroom atmosphere that encourages active and collaborative learning.
  • Encourage student community, provide referrals to support services, and maintain a respectful, inclusive environment.
Qualifications
  • Associate degree in Medical Lab or a health‑related major.
  • One (1) year of clinical experience.
Licenses and Certifications
  • ASCP‑BOC or ASCPi‑BOC certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist/Medical Technologist.
  • State Motor Vehicle Operator's License or demonstrable ability to gain access to work site(s).
Compensation
  • Salary: $55.88 per contact hour.
  • Contact hour definition: Two hours equals one contact hour.
  • Hours: Maximum of 12 contact hours per week.
  • Employment type: Part‑time.
