Job summary

Adidas Indianapolis is seeking a warehouse operations lead to manage a team of up to 50 hourly associates in a busy distribution center. You will use RF guns and kiosks, log activities in the WMS, and coach staff to meet service levels.

A strong emphasis on SOP adherence, safety, and continuous improvement drives daily performance. You will mentor teammates for current roles and future opportunities, foster a positive environment, and collaborate with supervisors, HR, and distribution personnel

Qualifications

  • Requires HS diploma or GED.
  • 2+ years in distribution/warehouse roles.
  • Ability to work overtime and weekends.
  • English language proficiency (read/write/speak).

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of up to 50 hourly associates.
  • Operate RF guns and kiosks to log transactions in WMS.
  • Adhere to SOPs and provide coaching.
  • Train and mentor associates for performance and growth.
  • Foster safe, collaborative work environment and Lean Six Sigma activities.
  • Identify safety concerns and report incidents.
  • Support continuous process improvement and customer focus.

Job description

Purpose

Supports the operations leadership team by contributing to labor allocation, leading meetings, assigning job duties, coaching for success, creating a safe & collaborative work environment, and driving process improvement. The role will be very technical and require strong problem-solving skills. Leads will work closely with department supervisors to monitor work flows, manage dwells, and drive overall shift performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with Operation Supervisor to lead a team of up to 50 hourly associates
  • Utilize warehouse tools, including radio frequency hand held units ("RF Guns") and computer kiosks, to update transactions within the warehouse management system (WMS) and log activities in the Labor Management (LM) module
  • Understand and act as a role model in following all standard operating procedures (SOPs)
  • Train and coach associates to achieve all operational goals and service levels
  • Mentor and develop teammates to perform better in their current roles while preparing them for future career opportunities
  • Ability to develop and share best practices
  • Help to fostera positive team environment that encourages all associates to provide insights and feedback to improve processes, adapt to an ever-changing business, and stay focused on customer satisfaction
  • Contribute to maintaining a safe and orderly working environment
  • Identify, report, and follow up on any property damage or safety concerns
  • Participate in Lean Six Sigma activities

  • Excel, Outlook, Word and working knowledge of WMS principles
  • Regularly required to talk or hear; stand or walk; use fingers, hands and arms to feel, handle, grip, grasp, lift, push and pull for up to ten (10) hours/day
  • Ability to work in a warehouse environment
  • Ability to reliably attend work/scheduled hours
  • Occasionally required to sit; bending, twisting, climb or balance; lift and carry items such as boxes weighing up to forty (40) pounds; and stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl
Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required
  • Minimum of two (2) years related distribution experience and/or training
  • Ability to work overtime and weekends as required
  • Required to speak, read, write and comprehend the English language
