Job summary

adidas seeks an Operations Supervisor in Spartanburg, SC, to lead a team of up to 50 hourly associates in a fast-paced distribution center. You will use RF guns and WMS to log transactions, enforce SOPs, and drive safety and performance.

You will train and coach staff, mentor teammates for career growth, and share best practices while supporting Lean Six Sigma initiatives to improve processes and customer satisfaction. A high school diploma and 2+ years of distribution experience are required.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • Two years of related distribution experience and/or training.
  • Proficiency with Excel and standard office software; familiarity with WMS is a plus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication in English; able to work in a team.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of up to 50 hourly associates in a warehouse setting.
  • Use RF guns and kiosks to update transactions in the WMS and LM modules.
  • Train, coach, and mentor associates to hit operational goals.
  • Follow SOPs and participate in Lean Six Sigma activities to improve processes.

Job description

Purpose:

Supports the operations leadership team by contributing to labor allocation, leading meetings, assigning job duties, coaching for success, creating a safe & collaborative work environment, and driving process improvement. The role will be very technical and require strong problem-solving skills. Leads will work closely with department supervisors to monitor work flows, manage dwells, and drive overall shift performance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with Operation Supervisor to lead a team of up to 50 hourly associates
  • Utilize warehouse tools, including radio frequency hand held units ("RF Guns") and computer kiosks, to update transactions within the warehouse management system (WMS) and log activities in the Labor Management (LM) module
  • Understand and act as a role model in following all standard operating procedures (SOPs)
  • Train and coach associates to achieve all operational goals and service levels
  • Mentor and develop teammates to perform better in their current roles while preparing them for future career opportunities
  • Ability to develop and share best practices
  • Help to fostera positive team environment that encourages all associates to provide insights and feedback to improve processes, adapt to an ever-changing business, and stay focused on customer satisfaction
  • Contribute to maintaining a safe and orderly working environment
  • Identify, report, and follow up on any property damage or safety concerns
  • Participate in Lean Six Sigma activities

Essential Functions:
  • work in a warehouse environment with noise, dust and varying temperatures
  • regularly required to talk, hear; sit, stand and/or walk; use fingers, hands, arms and feet to feel, handle, grip, grasp, lift, operate, push, pull, bend, and/or twist for up to twelve (12) hours/day
  • occasionally required to climb, stoop, kneel and/or crouch
  • occasionally lift and carry items such as boxes weighing up to fifty (50) pounds
  • work safely on elevated surfaces (2nd level mezzanine)
  • able to reliably attend work/scheduled hours
Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required
  • Minimum of two (2) years related distribution experience and/or training
  • Ability to work overtime and weekends as required
