Job summary

UDRI is seeking an Additive Manufacturing Engineer to focus on product development for AM, with responsibilities including reverse engineering, CAD design, 2D drawings with GD&T, and FEA analysis. The role involves guiding project steps, collaborating with multiple groups for manufacture and testing, and delivering training materials.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years in product development, proficiency in SolidWorks and ANSYS, and experience with GD&T and various manufacturing processes.

Qualifications

• BS degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering.
• 3+ years of experience in product development.
• 3+ years of experience with CAD software, preferably SolidWorks.
• 3+ years of experience in 2D drawing generation with GD&T.
• Experience in simulations/FEA using ANSYS.
• Experienced in reverse-engineering products/projects.
• Familiarity with casting, forging, extrusion, CNC machining, etc.
• Attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to document findings and write reports for internal/external use.
• Strong interpersonal communication and presentation skills.
• Self-motivation with minimal supervision.
• Experience collaborating in multi-disciplinary teams.
• Excellent presentation skills.
• Experience generating job routers and BOMs for part manufacture.
• U.S. citizen per contract requirements.

Responsibilities

• Reverse engineering and CAD design for AM components.
• Create 2D drawings applying GD&T.
• Perform FEA analysis using ANSYS.
• Develop training materials and mentor junior engineers.
• Support manufacturing qualification tests and process improvements.
• Collaborate across multi-disciplinary teams and travel as needed.
