Placements24 is seeking a compassionate Addiction Support Counsellor to join our client’s team in Welkom. You will provide therapeutic support, assess clients, and help them develop coping strategies for lasting recovery.

The role requires empathy, strong listening and communication skills, and experience in SA healthcare or social services. You will work with individuals and groups, maintain confidential records, and contribute to a supportive, recovery-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Degree in Psychology, Counselling, Social Work, or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in addiction counselling or similar setting.
• Professional accreditation or certification as Addiction Counsellor.
• Experience within South African healthcare or social services framework.

Responsibilities

• Conduct client assessments to determine nature and severity of addiction issues.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment and relapse prevention plans.
• Provide one-on-one and group counselling sessions using various modalities.
