Job summary

Samaritan Daytop Village, Inc. is seeking a Physician (MD) to deliver primary medical care for addiction and related disorders in a structured clinic setting. You will diagnose, treat, and coordinate care under the Medical Director's supervision.

The role requires an MD with 1–3 years in addiction populations or a fellowship in Addiction Medicine, with strong clinical and administrative skills and readiness for 24-hour on-call coverage as needed.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited Medical School.
• At least 1–3 years of experience with substance abuse populations or fellowship in Addiction Medicine.
• No current government investigations or sanctions; valid medical license.
• Flexible schedule and availability for on-call coverage.
• Knowledge of relevant federal/state regulations in addiction treatment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct admission and annual physical examinations.
• Examine and evaluate client medical symptoms and healthcare needs.
• Provide follow-up on chronic and acute conditions.
• Perform initial comprehensive SUD assessment to determine eligibility for treatment.
• Provide substance misuse counseling and evaluate medications for addiction treatment.
• Monitor abstinence or tapering during treatment.
• Support on-call availability to respond to client needs and questions.
• Ensure timely completion of forms and requisitions.
