Job summary

Commonwealth-Medical-Services in Danvers, MA seeks an Addiction Psychiatrist to serve as Medical Director for a 239-bed detox and residential treatment program. The role blends direct patient care with leadership over clinicians and supervision of APPs, with Massachusetts licensure and board-certification preferred.

The position offers a flexible schedule with 2-3 days per week up to full-time, a strong medical leadership component, and a multidisciplinary team focused on comprehensive addiction

Qualifications

• MD or DO with Massachusetts medical license.
• Board certification or eligibility in psychiatry.
• Fellowship in addiction psychiatry or addiction medicine preferred.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with substance use and co-occurring psychiatric disorders.
• Provide psychiatric care within detoxification and residential treatment programs.
• Serve in a Medical Director capacity and provide clinical leadership for the program.
• Provide clinical oversight and supervision of advanced practice providers.
• Develop and oversee individualized treatment plans.
• Manage psychiatric medications and monitor patient response to treatment.
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, therapists, counselors, and other behavioral health professionals.
• Participate in multidisciplinary treatment planning.
• Provide clinical consultation and guidance to the treatment team.
• Participate in quality improvement, compliance, and clinical program initiatives.
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
• Help ensure services are delivered in accordance with applicable clinical and regulatory standards.
