Job summary

Luna Data Solutions, Inc. is seeking a Scrum Master for a long term contract opportunity in Austin. Onsite 4 days a week in South Austin with W2 or C2C arrangements. Requires a minimum of 7 years in IT including 4+ years of Scrum Master experience.

The ideal candidate will gather requirements, tailor Agile frameworks, coach teams, and drive continuous improvement while collaborating with product owners and technical teams to align backlogs with business goals.

Qualifications

• Requires a minimum of 7 years in IT including 4+ years of Scrum Master experience.
• Experience facilitating Scrum ceremonies (Daily Standups, Sprint Planning, Reviews, Retrospectives).
• Knowledge of Agile metrics and continuous improvement practices.

Responsibilities

• Gather business, functional, and non-functional requirements, including SLAs.
• Introduce and refine Agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban) tailored to the organization's needs.
• Coach teams on Agile best practices to ensure adherence to Agile principles and methodologies.
• Design and implement Kanban boards to visualize work and optimize workflow.
• Identify and eliminate bottlenecks in workflows for more efficient task completion.
• Provide training on managing Kanban systems to improve visibility.
• Coordinate and run workshops to collect business needs and mediate between units.
• Document requirements and obtain sign-off from business teams.
• Collaborate with technical teams to document requirements and system design.
• Develop technical specifications, including reporting requirements and data usage guidelines.
• Work with product owners to refine backlog and align tasks with goals.
• Use estimation techniques to help teams understand priorities and capacity.
• Facilitate Scrum ceremonies and monitor Agile metrics.
• Promote transparent communication between development teams and stakeholders.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement through retrospectives.

• Develop technical specifications, including: STM, Reporting requirements, Dataset content requirements, User interaction guidelines and data usage purposes.
• Work closely with product owners to: Refine and prioritize the product backlog, Align tasks with business goals and customer needs, Implement Agile backlog grooming practices to ensure sprint readiness.
• Use estimation techniques to help teams understand priorities and capacity for upcoming iterations.
• Facilitate Scrum ceremonies: Daily standups, Sprint planning, Sprint reviews, Retrospectives.
• Establish and monitor Agile metrics (e.g., velocity, cycle time, burn-down charts) to: Track team performance, Identify areas for improvement.
• Facilitate transparent communication between development teams and stakeholders to align on goals and progress.
• Promote a culture of continuous improvement through regular retrospectives and actionable insights.
