Luna Data Solutions, Inc. in Austin is seeking a Scrum Master for a long-term contract. This onsite role requires 4+ years of Scrum Master experience and a total IT background of 7+ years. The position is onsite four days a week in South Austin with flexibility for W2 or C2C contractors.

The candidate will lead agile practice adoption, coach teams, facilitate ceremonies, and partner with product owners and business units to drive value and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years in IT including at least 4 years as Scrum Master.
• Experience guiding agile teams and coordinating cross-functional stakeholders.
• Ability to tailor Scrum/Kanban practices to organizational needs.

Responsibilities

• Gather business, functional, and non-functional requirements incl. SLAs.
• Introduce/refine Agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban) to fit needs.
• Coach teams on Agile best practices and principles.
• Design/implement Kanban boards to visualize work and limit WIP.
• Identify/eliminate bottlenecks to improve throughput.
• Provide training on Kanban systems for real-time visibility.
• Coordinate/run workshops to align business needs and resolve conflicts.
• Document requirements and obtain sign-off from business teams.
• Collaborate with tech teams to document requirements and system design.
• Develop technical specs: STM, reporting, data usage guidelines.
• Work with product owners to refine backlog and align with goals.
• Use estimation to gauge priorities/capacity for sprints.
• Facilitate Scrum ceremonies: daily standups, planning, reviews, retros.
• Establish/monitor Agile metrics (velocity, cycle time, burn-down).
• Promote transparent communication between dev teams and stakeholders.
• Foster continuous improvement through retrospectives and insights.

Luna Data Solutions is seeking a Scrum Master for a long term contract opportunity in Austin.

Onsite 4 days a week in South Austin

• Gather business, functional, and non-functional requirements, including Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
• Introduce and refine Agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban) tailored to the organization's needs.
• Coach teams on Agile best practices to ensure adherence to Agile principles and methodologies.
• Design and implement Kanban boards to: Visualize work, Limit Work in Progress (WIP), Optimize workflow.
• Identify and eliminate bottlenecks in workflows for more efficient task completion.
• Provide training on managing Kanban systems to improve real-time visibility and enable faster decision-making.
• Coordinate and run workshops to: Collect and discover business needs; Mediate between business units with conflicting requirements.
• Document requirements and obtain sign-off from business teams.
• Collaborate with technical teams to: Discover patterns and relationships in business data entities; Document business requirements and system design using agency-approved formats.
• Develop technical specifications, including: STM, Reporting requirements, Dataset content requirements, User interaction guidelines and data usage purposes.
• Work closely with product owners to: Refine and prioritize the product backlog, Align tasks with business goals and customer needs, Implement Agile backlog grooming practices to ensure sprint readiness.
• Use estimation techniques to help teams understand priorities and capacity for upcoming iterations.
• Facilitate Scrum ceremonies: Daily standups, Sprint planning, Sprint reviews, Retrospectives.
• Establish and monitor Agile metrics (e.g., velocity, cycle time, burn-down charts) to: Track team performance, Identify areas for improvement.
• Facilitate transparent communication between development teams and stakeholders to align on goals and progress.
• Promote a culture of continuous improvement through regular retrospectives and actionable insights.
