Job summary

Disabled Athlete Sports Association (DASA) in St. Louis, MO seeks a Program Manager to oversee adaptive sports programs for youth and adults. Responsibilities include managing staff and volunteers, coordinating schedules, and ensuring inclusive athlete experiences.

The role requires strong communication, organization, and program oversight. Travel, night/weekend availability, and CPR/AED certifications must be maintained.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Recreation Therapy, Exercise Science, Sport Management, or related field.
  • 1–3 years experience in program management or related field.
  • Competency with web-based and computer applications.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment background screening.

Responsibilities

  • Lead planning, implementation, and evaluation of recreation and competition programs, including scheduling, participant communication, program development, and oversight of staff, volunteers and budgets.
  • Recruit, retain, and support athlete participation through data-informed outreach, engagement, and development strategies.
  • Conduct athlete assessments, document participant needs, and maintain accurate athlete records and program data.
  • Plan and manage recurring events, clinics, adaptive fitness opportunities, disability awareness programs, and other program initiatives.
  • Recruit, onboard, train, supervise, and evaluate interns while managing the organization’s internship program.
  • Maintain and manage program equipment inventory, including purchasing, tracking, maintenance, and replacement planning.
  • Develop surveys and analyze participation data to support program evaluation, budgeting, grant reporting, and organizational planning.
  • Assist with the development and distribution of marketing and promotional materials for programs, events, and organizational initiatives.
