Job summary

Move United in Duluth, MN, seeks a dedicated professional to coordinate adaptive sports and recreational programs for individuals with disabilities. You will recruit and train volunteers, manage databases, and assist in marketing efforts. The ideal candidate will have at least a Bachelor's degree and relevant experience.

Qualifications

  • 1 to 3 years of experience working with people with disabilities and adaptive sports.
  • Experience with database management including data entry and reports.
  • Group facilitation and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and implement community-based sports programs for people with disabilities.
  • Recruit and lead volunteers and interns.
  • Maintain participant and donor databases.

Job description

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan, coordinate, and implement community-based sports and recreation programs for people with disabilities
  • Assess, gather data, and evaluate all adaptive programs
  • Recruit, train, and lead volunteers and interns who work with program participants and/or assist with the organization’s operations
  • Maintain participant, volunteer, and donor database
  • Maintain adaptive equipment supply and inventory
  • Serve as a resource to program participants, their families, volunteers and community partners
  • Assist in creating marketing, program, and fundraising materials and social media posts
  • Participate in events and conferences
Educational Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Preferred degree in Therapeutic recreation, Recreation Management, Special Education, Adaptive Physical Education, Sports Management, or related field.
Required Qualifications:
  • 1 to 3 years of experience working with people with disabilities, and adaptive sports and recreational activities
  • Experience using Microsoft Suite, including Microsoft Office, Teams, and WordPress (Preferred)
  • Experience with charitable giving and donor relationships
  • Group facilitation and presentation experience
  • Experience in creating social media posts (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.)
  • Experience with database management (data entry, reports, queries)
Licensure/Certification Qualifications:
  • BLS Tier 1 – Basic Life Support
  • Minnesota or Wisconsin Driver’s license
