Job summary

The Colorado School for the Deaf and the Blind (CSDB) is accepting applications for a pool of qualified individuals for seasonal coaching opportunities across middle and high school levels. Assignments may include Head Coach and Assistant Coach roles in various athletic and student activity programs.

Coaches will foster teamwork, leadership, sportsmanship, and academic success while supporting Deaf, Hard of Hearing, Blind, Visually Impaired, DeafBlind, and diverse learners.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Experience coaching, teaching, officiating, or supporting athletic or academic enrichment programs.
• Ability to supervise and mentor students.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Evening practices and travel may be required.
• Successful completion of required pre-employment screenings.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and conduct practices and competitions.
• Teach sport-specific or activity-specific skills and strategies.
• Promote teamwork, leadership, discipline, inclusion, and sportsmanship.
• Supervise students during practices, competitions, travel, and other school-sponsored activities.
• Foster positive relationships with students, families, and staff.
• Monitor student participation, attendance, conduct, and eligibility.
• Maintain equipment, uniforms, facilities, and program records.
• Support student safety and respond to emergencies and injuries.
• Ensure compliance with CSDB policies and governing rules (CHSAA, NFHS, Special Olympics).
• Attend required meetings, trainings, clinics, and professional development.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Athletic Director or administration.
