Job summary

The Colorado School for the Deaf and the Blind (CSDB) invites applications for a Special Education Teacher within the School for the Blind. This full-time role serves middle and high school learners who are blind or visually impaired with multiple disabilities.

You’ll use Colorado Academic Standards and access skills to set goals, assess progress, and collaborate with families and teams to support academic, functional, social-emotional, and independent living development.

Qualifications

• Must hold or be eligible for Colorado special education licensure.
• Experience with students who have multiple disabilities.
• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) at Novice+ level or committed to achieving it.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver standards-based instruction based on Colorado Standards and IEPs.
• Prepare lesson plans, adapt materials, and deliver daily activities under the Principal.
• Maintain a positive learning environment with behavior support strategies.
• Develop accommodations for visually impaired learners with multiple disabilities.
• Collaborate with families, educators, and related service providers.
