The Colorado School for the Deaf and the Blind (CSDB) is accepting applications for a Special Education Teacher in the School for the Blind. This full-time role serves middle to high school learners who are blind or visually impaired with multiple disabilities.

You will use Colorado Academic Standards, support IEP goals, and collaborate with families and staff to foster academic, functional, social-emotional, and independent living development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education or closely related field.
• Must hold or be eligible for Colorado educator licensure as Special Education Generalist or Specialist.
• Experience teaching or working with children who have multiple disabilities.
• ASL proficiency at Novice (0+) or commitment to achieve it.

Responsabilités

• Plan and deliver standards-based instruction based on Colorado Academic Standards, access skills, and IEPs.
• Prepare lesson plans and adapt materials under the Principal’s direction.
• Maintain a positive learning environment using positive behavior support strategies.
• Collaborate with families and related service providers to support learners’ development.
• Coordinate with staff to support school improvement and co-curricular activities.
• Provide parent consultation and participate in selected activities.
