Job summary

Snowbird Operations LLC is seeking an Adaptive Snowsports Instructor for Wasatch Adaptive Sports. The role involves teaching adaptive alpine skiing, sit skiing, snowboarding, and ski biking at Snowbird and nearby resorts, aligned with WAS programs.

Requirements include 21+, First Aid/CPR/AED (or willingness to obtain), and 1–3 years teaching recreation skills, preferably to people with disabilities. Minimum 3 days/week, typically 9:30 am–4:00 pm, with benefits and seasonal scheduling.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• First Aid/CPR/AED certified or willing to obtain upon hire.
• Ski and/or snowboard at an advanced level.
• 1-3 years experience teaching recreation skills, preferably to people with disabilities.

Responsibilities

• Teach skiing, snowboarding, sit skiing and/or ski biking program lessons according to WAS teaching progressions.
• Learn to adapt all equipment to varying abilities through training and lessons.
• Develop a strong teaching ability by regularly attending in-house clinics and other professional training.
• Establish a strong pre-lesson plan and on-snow assessment.
• Adhere to all risk management protocols to ensure the safety of all students and instructors.
• Track and evaluate student goals and progressions.
• Communicate respectfully and think critically to promote a positive program culture.
