Job summary

City of Loveland is seeking an Activity Leader for Adaptive Recreation in Loveland, CO. The role supports adults with disabilities, delivering inclusive recreation programs and therapeutic activities. Hours vary, with evenings and weekends required.

Salary ranges from $15.76 to $21.27 per hour, with a part-time, non-benefitted schedule under 20 hours weekly. Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, 18+ years age, valid driver’s license, and First Aid/CPR within 60 days.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or GED required.
• Must be a minimum of 18 years of age at time of hire.
• Experience teaching or co-teaching sports or therapeutic recreation activities preferred.
• Course work in therapeutic recreation or related field preferred.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.
• Must possess or obtain First Aid and CPR certification within 60 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Focus on areas of expertise within adult educational/social programs and unified sports.
• Develop and implement therapeutic lesson/program plans.
• Instruct registered participants in unified sports and teach skills for each activity.
• Coordinate practice, league games and tournaments with parents and players.
• Plan and facilitate social opportunities for adults with disabilities.
• Maintain participant familiarity and safety with behavior plans and medical needs.
• Complete administrative tasks including record keeping and evaluations.
• Participate in staff trainings and meetings.
• Supervise program volunteers with constructive feedback.
• Operate a multi-passenger accessible lift van.
• Represent the City in a professional and healthy manner.
• May assist with drop-in Childcare and in special events.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
