Job summary

Family YMCA of Greater Augusta is seeking an Adaptive Aquatic Instructor for a part-time role at Katie's Pool, a therapeutic setting. You will lead inclusive swimming sessions for participants with diverse abilities in a warm, supportive environment and help them build strength and independence.

Requirements include strong swimming skills, a heart for inclusion, CPR/First Aid within 30 days, and WSI/YSLI certification preferred; background and drug screening required.

Qualifications

• Ability to teach adapted swim and water-based movement for participants with diverse abilities.
• Commitment to inclusion and service.
• Strong swimming skills and a team-player mindset.
• CPR/First Aid completed within 30 days.
• WSI/YSLI certification preferred; we will assist to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Teach adapted swim and water-based movement sessions.
• Help participants gain strength, balance, and independence.
• Assist with pool entry/exit, including wheelchair transfers.
• Collaborate with instructors and volunteers.
