Job summary

Tri-State Orthopaedics is seeking a part-time Licensed Physical Therapy Assistant to join Tri-State Physical Therapy in our North Hills office located in McCandless. Experience in aquatic therapy and fall prevention is a plus.

The successful candidate will assist the Physical Therapists with implementing treatment plans, conducting interventions, and educating patients on home exercise programs while maintaining accurate records and confidentiality.

Qualifications

  • CAPTE-accredited PTA degree required.
  • Current Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Licensure/Certification.
  • Competency in therapy treatment principles and equipment usage.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good organizational skills and EMR navigation.

Responsibilities

  • 16 hours per week in North Hills office.
  • Assist PT in aquatic and fall prevention program.
  • Implement treatment goals and plans set by the PT.
  • Deliver interventions for posture, strengthening, endurance, balance, and functional skills.
  • Instruct patients on home exercise programs and daily living activities.
  • Prepare daily clinical notes and routine progress reports.
  • Maintain confidentiality of medical records and billing information.
  • Comply with rehab department policies and facility procedures.
  • Support staff/family education through in-services and trainings.
  • Review and adhere to Tri-State policies and procedures.

Tri-State Physical Therapy (TSPT), a division of Tri-State Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine, is seeking a part-time Licensed Physical Therapy Assistant to join our well-established and growing physical therapy Practice in our North Hills office located in McCandless.

Aquatic and Fall Prevention experience a plus!

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Adhering to a part-time weekly work schedule of 16 hours in our North Hills office.
  • The primary responsibility will be to assist the Physical Therapists (PT) in carrying out an Aquatic and Fall Prevention Program.
  • Implementing treatment goals, plans, and programs as established by the PT.
  • Assisting the PT in carrying out the following therapeutic interventions designed to meet the patients' long-term goals: Posture training, strengthening exercise, endurance/cardiac training, balance exercises, coordination exercises, joint mobility and muscle lengthening, pain relief, functional skills training and community re-entry training.
  • Instructing patients in the use of prescribed equipment if necessary.
  • Preparing daily clinical notes and routine progress reports.
  • Instructing patients and family members regarding in-home exercise programs and activities of daily living.
  • Maintaining confidentiality of all medical record, facility and rehab-related information.
  • Maintaining accurate billing information in accordance with facility procedures daily.
  • Complying with the documentation requirements of the rehab department and facility.
  • Assisting with staff/family member training and education when appropriate by formal and informal in-services, as well as consultations.
  • Reviewing and adhering to the policies and procedures outlined by the facility and Tri-State Physical Therapy.

Qualifications:

  • Physical Therapist Assistant education, obtained in a Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE)-accredited two-year Associate Degree program.
  • Current Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Licensure/Certification.
  • Competency in therapy treatment principles, techniques, materials and equipment utilization.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Proficient in navigating through electronic medical records.
