Job summary

Aleut Ventures is seeking a skilled Mechanic & Maintenance Technician to service Adak Island facilities, vehicles, and equipment. You will operate in a remote, two-weeks-on/two-weeks-off rotation, with on-site housing and round-trip air travel from Anchorage provided, plus a company vehicle while onsite.

This is a generalist role requiring strong problem-solving across mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and HVAC tasks to keep critical systems running in a remote environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• At least 5 years of mechanical/maintenance experience.
• Completion of 40-hour HAZWOPER training required.
• TWIC credential within 6 months of hire.
• Ability to pass background and motor vehicle record checks.
• Ability to work varying shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair building systems, equipment, vehicles, and facilities across Adak operations.
• Perform plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and general repairs to keep sites safe and functional.
• Inspect equipment, troubleshoot failures, and complete repairs or recommend replacements.
• Conduct preventive maintenance on vehicles, engines, machinery, and facilities.
• Diagnose vehicle and engine issues with appropriate tools.
• Cross-train in critical areas to support other Aleut Ventures operations.
