Job summary

The NYC Department of Design and Construction is seeking a Project Manager Intern to support ADA compliance across capital projects. You will interpret and apply the 2010 ADA Standards and NYC Building Code Chapter 11, review consultants’ work, and participate in interagency meetings to ensure accessibility compliance.

Responsibilities include site visits to assess ADA adherence, staff development support, and effective communication of technical information within a collaborative or independent

Qualifications

• A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university in engineering, architecture, or related fields; or a master’s degree in architecture (first professional degree).
• Design and construction knowledge related to accessibility is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with interpreting and applying the 2010 ADA Standards and NYC Building Code Chapter 11.
• Review outside design consultants’ work for ADA compliance.
• Participate in interagency meetings and conduct weekly construction site visits to assess accessibility.
