Job summary

Universal Health Services, Inc. at The George Washington University Hospital in Washington, DC, is seeking a full-time Physical Therapist to support hospitalized patients in the Medical-Surgical Rehabilitation Department.

The therapist will perform detailed assessments, develop individualized plans, coordinate care with the rehab team, and educate patients and caregivers to promote functional recovery and safe transition of care.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's, Master's or Doctorate degree from an accredited Physical Therapy program.
• Hospital setting experience is preferred.
• DC License must be obtained before start of employment.
• Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Professionals.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed assessments of adult patients' neurological, musculoskeletal, sensory, cognitive, and functional needs in the acute hospital setting.
• Create and implement individualized therapy plans to support functional recovery and care transitions.
• Collaborate with nurses, physicians, rehab staff, social workers and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care.
• Offer guidance and education to patients and caregivers.
