Job summary

The George Washington University Hospital’s Physical Therapy team seeks a part-time Physical Therapist to support the rehab needs of hospitalized patients. GW Hospital, a 385-bed Level 1 Trauma Center and Academic Medical Center, offers top-tier care across multiple specialties and a collaborative, interdisciplinary environment.

Responsibilities include adult patient assessments, developing individualized therapy plans, and coordinating with a broad care team to optimize recovery and discharge

Qualifications

• Graduate degree in physical therapy from an accredited program.
• DC license required before start of employment.
• BLS certification for healthcare professionals (AHA or Red Cross).

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed assessments of adult patients’ neurological, musculoskeletal, sensory, cognitive, and functional needs in the acute hospital setting.
• Create and implement individualized therapy plans to support functional recovery and care-transition planning.
• Coordinate with nurses, physicians, rehab staff, social workers and other professionals to provide comprehensive care.
• Offer guidance and education to patients and caregivers.
• This position is 24 hours per week (Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday).
